Ectonurites are a species from the planet Anur Phaetos in the Anur System in the Ben 10 Universe.
Appearance
With their malleable protective layer of skin, Ectonurites look like a classical ghost, with one solid exterior vein that wraps all around their body, acting as a track for their one singular eye to travel along. Ectonurites can grow this protective layer of skin to protect them from sunlight.
Without their protective layer of skin, Ectonurites look like misshapen horrors. Many have varying forms. Some so bizarre, they even lack humanoid shapes or even gain multiple extra limbs.
Behavor
Ectonurites were once known for their aggressive and violent nature, largley due to the leadership of Zs’Skayr. But after his defeat, they became more curious and calm, traveling across the Anur System and interacting more peacefully with their neighboring species.
Much like the other species of Anur, the Ectonurites see all other species as "Monsters" and as such are either afraid or try to drive them away.
Abilities
- Ghostly Powers- The atoms that make up an Ectonurite's body are spread very thin, and thanks to the ectoplasm holding them together, Ectonurites can manipulate their own physical density, giving them the abilities of flight, intangibility, and invisibility.
- Psychic Abilities- Ectonurites can also spread their ectoplasmic reach to separate entities, living or not, adding telepathy and mental overshadowing to their capabilities.
- Space Survivability- An Ectonurite can survive in the vacuum of space.
Weaknesses
- Heat and Light- A drawback of density shifting is that if an Ectonurite's body temperature increases, then their atomic vibration speeds up, causing their atoms to spread too thin and their physical form to completely dissipate.
- Second Skin- Their second skin inhibits many of their powers, but removing it makes them vulnerable to light.
History and Society
Following the lead of their High Ecto Lord Zs'Skayr, Ectonurites migrated from planet to planet, seeking to take control of the populace. With their lord wanting to spread his influence too quickly, he left in search of a powerful host to aid in his conquer of Anur.
After Ben's defeat of Zs'Skayr, the Ectonurites were left without their leader to command them, and became enamored with the various cultures and lives outside their empty void, and befriended their neighbors instead of controlling them. They now inhabit many planets within the Anur System alongside the other species.
