Fungicide is the Omnitrix's DNA sample of a Shroomycilius from the planet Shroomycium Prime in 5 Years Later.
Appearance[]
Fungicide resembles a purple mushroom that was pulled from the ground, roots and all. He has eight tendrils; two resembling arms and six resmebling his legs. He has multiple mouths containing blue, jagged teeth, around his head, abdomen, and ends of his tendrils. Fungicide has three eyes inside of his mouths.
The Omnitrix symbol is located in the middle of his mushroom cap.
Abilities[]
- Solid Matter Ingestion- Using the multitude of mouths present on his body, Fungicide can eat and gain nutrition from any material or substance he can fit inside them. The mouths have a powerful bite force and razor sharp edges, allowing him to take in larger objects by crushing and chewing them to pieces. He can digest what he eats at rapid speeds by manipulating his own metabolism, or store material in reserve by pausing specific sections of his digestive processes.
- Size Alteration/Mass Absorption- Fungicide can convert the mass and potential nutrients of whatever he eats into more mass for his own body. This allows him to gradually grow to massive sizes depending on how much he eats, with no known limit to growth other than him running out of things to eat in a given area.
- Taphokinesis- Through a combination of a unique form of venom and highly specialized bacteria, Fungicide can choose to cause anything he bites into to undergo rotting and decay very quickly. Once the decomposition starts, he can manipulate the speed at which it occurs.
- Regeneration- A side-function of Fungicide’s size alteration ability is that he can also use the ingested mass for the regeneration of any damage done to his body. This regeneration system is at its strongest with his tentacles, with his central body taking longer to repair damage. Through this process, he is also capable of growing even more tentacles than his initial number.
- Enhanced Strength- A byproduct of his large size, Fungicide is rather strong. Each of his tentacles have powerful constricting or smashing capabilities individually, and he is capable of lifting objects just as large as he is when using all of them at once. His wide frame also helps him to throw his weight around with physical attacks such as tackles or body slams.
- Enhanced Durability- Fungicide’s central body is rather tough, capable of surviving repeated impacts, piercings, or explosions. He is also capable of surviving in the vacuum of space and has no need to breathe due to Shroomycium Prime lacking a proper atmosphere. His softer tentacles are much more easily damaged, however.
Weaknesses[]
- Large Size- Fungicide is a rather large transformation, making him prone to property damage and suitable for more open spaces rather than enclosed areas.
- Proportional Growth- The level of growth Fungicide experiences from consuming material is correspondent to his current size. This means that the bigger he gets, the slower the actual growth processes are. This applies to both his size-shifting and his regeneration.
- Cold Temperatures- Fungicide’s biological processes are hindered by cold temperatures in an atmosphere, causing him great discomfort, weakening his regeneration ability and eventually putting him into biological stasis. He is ill-suited for use in frigid environments or through others weaponizing cold against him.
- Toxic Combination- Although capable of digesting a vast amount of materials, one rather specific combination of substances is so uniquely toxic to Fungicide’s species that upon ingestion they will die almost instantly. This deadly combination is of green beans, saline water, beef, concentrated melatonin and paper. Each one is harmless to Fungicide by itself, but are a death sentence when eaten all together.
Mythology[]
Shroomycium Prime is not a true planet, but rather a titanic colony of a fungus species that somehow conglomerated its entire population into a singular giant mass. During its first sighting, it was "merely" the size of a small country but has since been slowly but surely growing larger as time passes. It is theorized to eventually reach the size and mass of Earth’s moon by the end of the century. It is currently unknown where exactly the fungus originated from, both in terms of its home planet or the name of the original species that formed it. Although alive, Shroomycium Prime is neither sapient nor sentient. It spends its time drifting through the stars, feeding on any space debris it comes across. If it encounters anything equal to or bigger than itself, this is where the Shroomycilius come in.
The spawn of Shroomycium Prime, the Shroomycilius are proportionally tiny compared to their planetary progenitor. They act akin to worker bees or ants, working in massive swarms to break down and collect materials before bringing them back in order to feed their creator. Unlike their planet, they are actually forms of intelligent life and are fully sapient. Despite their destructive prowess when gathering food, the Shroomycilius go out of their way to only attack barren or lifeless planets, even manipulating the trajectory of Shroomycium Prime to avoid encountering any inhabited ones. When asked why, they simply replied with "We know all too well how such a loss feels".

Trivia[]
- Fungicide is based off Elder Princess Shroob and the general Shroob race from the Mario & Luigi series.
- The components of Fungicide's weakness to a specific combination of materials are references to each of the games.
- Although a rather rare occurrence, individual Shroomycilius have been known to permanently separate themselves from the rest of the colony. One of them has actually taken up a job of sorts as a living garbage disposal in Undertown.
