Genus Lepus are a species from the planet Pollatempus in The Ages Orbit in the Ben 10 Universe.
Appearance[]
Genus Lepus are anthropomorphic hare-like aliens that can stand on their digitigrade legs or their long ears. They are covered in fur that is usually grey cool colors such as a dull mint green or light blue. Their arms are shapely and muscular while their tails are zigzags like a lightning bolt. Their heights vary from 2 to 13 feet tall. The proportions of Genus Lepus vary dramatically amongst their kind, particularity in the size of their ears, legs, and tails. Their fingers and toes have dull-shaped nails.
While running faster, Genus Lepus' body parts begin to stretch in length and increase in the number of bends.
Abilities[]
- Massively Enhanced Speed- Genus Lepus are incredibly fast, able to move at speeds exceeding the speed of light by channeling tachyons into their body and refracting them. This speed lets them break passages into other timelines. As a side-effect of this physics-breaking speed, their ears and tail lengthen.
- Temporal Clone Generation and Timeline Merging- As a by-product of moving at high velocities, Genus Lepus can generate temporary choice-based timeline variants (temporal clones) that are manifestations of the individual's various decisions in multiple timelines blended into the current timeline simultaneously. Once the clones converge back together, all the choices and memories fold back onto the individual.
- Enhanced Physiology- Genus Lepus possess enhanced physical characteristics such as increased strength, durability, agility, dexterity and endurance, etc. that far exceed those of humans.
Weaknesses[]
- Maintaining Reality- The more clones a Genus Lepus makes, the thinner the barriers between timelines become. This can cause time cracks to form that, if unchecked, would continue to expand until it consumes the entire universe.
- Interruptions to Movement- Genus Lepus is only able to make clones while they are running, if they or their clones are prevented from moving, they will clip out of the merged timeline the other clones are participating in.
Society and History[]
Genus Lepus evolved to handle the intense gravity of Pollatempus. The gravity and unique properties of the planet's core warping space time channel faster-than-light particles called tachyons which Genus Lepus evolved to be able to channel and refract. Due to the dangers of tachyon refracting to areas of space time and lifeforms not evolved similarly to handle it, Genus Lepus rarely travel outside of their home.
Young Genus Lepus are often artistic and can be used as an outlet to understand their split-decision abilities. Adult Genus Lepus are seen always moving around Pollatempus, appearing as luminous streaks of light for relative observers and as an opaque stellar aura of many colors to outside observers. This running and leaping creates an artificial rotation for Pollatempus, lessening the drag it makes on space time and anchoring Kinet and Chalybeas to its orbital regime.

Trivia[]
- Some Genus Lepus are able to learn how to fix unstable portals, as shown by Dr. Rabbitnik.
