5 Years later Wiki

Melosea is the Omnitrix's DNA sample of a Wasca from the planet Teish in 5 Years Later.

Appearance[]

Melosea is a frog-like alien with six limbs. His skin is mainly blue with light blue spots, the exception being his hands, feet, and mouth which are yellowish. He has a long, yellow tongue. There is a membrane between each of his fingers and toes which are red. His finger and toe tips are light blue. He has fins on his forearms, thighs, cheeks, and sides that are teal and magenta. He wears a black and green uniform.

The Omnitrix symbol is located on his chest.

Abilities[]

  • High Speed Swimming - Melosea can achieve great speeds underwater.
  • Underwater Radar - Melosea is able to sense incoming objects due to enhanced hearing in water.
  • Versatile Tongue - Melosea can use its elastic tongue to move around. It also secretes a powerful neurotoxin.
  • Musical Mastery - Melosea instinctively knows how to use any instrument he finds.
  • Vocal Powers - Melosea can use his voice to dissociate enemies or create a powerful scream.
  • Aquatic Features - Melosea is able to breathe and see underwater.
  • Retractable Dorsal Fins - Melosea has fins that he can extend from his forearms, thighs, cheeks, and sides for increased defense and durability. This also improve his ability to travel in stronger currents.

Weaknesses[]

  • Land Mobility - Melosea is considerable less mobile and athletic compared to when in water.
  • Koteail - Koteail are the natural predators of the Wasca. Meaning "Moving Graveyard" in the ancient Wasca tongue, Koteail are massive whale-like beasts that produce a short-lasting chemical that dulls the senses of those who enter its territory, they then use their immense speed and size to burst through the waters to slam into prey getting them stuck on their highly sticky and acidic body.

Mythology[]

The Wasca are from the lush planet Teish. Teish, a blue world of interconnected continents and 20 independent seas, is home to the Wasca, who thrive in its purple waters. Living up to 250 Earth years, they begin life as gray, two-armed, genderless creatures hatched from sandy seabanks. Around 30 Earth years, they undergo a two-year transformation, developing their secondary arms and biological sex: males become blue-skinned and frog-faced, while females grow purple-skinned and shark-faced. This maturation is celebrated with the "Gymak" or "First Noise", a joyous festival where the newly adult Wasca sing for the first time, expressing their profound connection to music.

Music is central to Wasca culture, believed to stem from their bond with the "Qato", living musical notes representing the universe's essence. Playing music strengthens this bond, making music an art of expression rather than skill. Their unparalleled talent attracted intergalactic record companies, launching the Wasca into stardom. However, the industry exploited them, overworking many and abandoning them on hostile planets when they failed to meet demands. Some were even enslaved, their musical gifts and neurotoxic saliva commodified. Secret abductions escalated on Teish, leading to widespread devastation.

Plumbers eventually intervened, rescuing many, though scars remained. Investigations revealed complicity among Wasca governments, some of which traded their people for advanced technology. Public outrage erupted, with protests and riots demanding justice. Amidst this turmoil, Teish debated isolating itself from the galaxy. Extremist groups like the Solo Symphony championed isolation, while the Cosmic Chorus opposed it, advocating for education and unity with other species.

To protect themselves, Teish enforced a strict blockade. Military security now surrounds the planet, requiring rigorous background checks and month-long approval processes for any incoming starships. Unauthorized vessels are denied entry or destroyed on sight. Though this deters most visitors, some, like the Chiroptera Ludwi—a bat-like species who see the Wasca as kindred spirits—brave the restrictions to foster peace. Despite frequent attacks by extremists, the Chiroptera Ludwi persist, hoping to restore harmony and joy to Teish's waters.
