Differences From The Comic Version[]
Some scenes in the Motion Comic were changed, cut, or extended with some visual and dialogue alterations, even since the Recalibrated Event. While most panels have been altered to include vfx and animation, these are the significant changes:
- Additional panels are added at the beginning to reestablish Vlad’s arrival. These panels are reused from Episode 2.
- Slampeed is shown running into frame before switching into Chromastone.
- The background when Ben is falling unconscious to the ground is now blue instead of yellow.
- When Ben is reviewing the battle footage, you can now see him scroll through different types of energy to compare Vlad’s attacks. You can also see him scroll through different alien holograms before transforming into XLR8.
- Additional ice shards were added when Vlad breaks free of the ice.
- A “Click!” onomatopoeia was added when Vlad unclips his cape from his costume. This “Click!” was reused from Danny’s belt.
- Additional scenes of XLR8 saving civilians were added when Danny and Vlad are flying throughout Bellwood.
- Danny has a line reacting to the accidental damage to a nearby tower.
- Scenes of XLR8 trying to help Danny save the civilians from the falling tower but prevented by Vlad were added to explain Ben’s absence in that sequence.
- The civilians confusing Danny with Ben no longer have dialogue boxes, and are now only heard audibly.
- When Eon pauses time, the effect is demonstrated by Danny’s dialogue box failing to build upon itself, rather than each word getting its own box. He is also accompanied by after images.
- Danny says an extra “What?” when he is freed from Eon’s paused time to accompany Scott’s performance.
- The portal Zim sends to retrieve GIR is red instead of pink.
Trivia[]
- An unfinished version of the opening scene was released as a YouTube short prior to the episode’s official release. This version has a different score and lacks final vfx and sfx.
- Danny’s scream when Vlad’s device electrocutes him imitates an autobite of David Kaufman’s Danny scream from Danny Phantom, which was reused in multiple episodes.
- Vlad’s Ghostly Wail has pitch differences from Danny’s version.
- The track used for Danny and Slampeed fighting Vlad until Danny catches Ben in the air was one of the first tracks Noxi ever made for the series. It was originally made a test for Vlad’s theme, but was slightly tweaked and used for this episode.
- This is Kellen’s second time voicing XLR8, the first time being in the YouTube short The Message.
- Six of the civilians XLR8 saves from Vlad and Danny’s battle were the winner of the Toras Keychain Raffle.
- One of them wears a shirt that says “Revolution” with a gear inside of it, a reference to Generator Rex. Rex would later appear in Episode 9.
- When the windows shatter after Vlad’s attack, Hurshie’s Panda Avatar can be shown, along with a Musamalmax and Crazy Frog.
- Every civilian hear prominently reacting to Danny saving them from the falling building with his ice is voiced by a YouTuber that has at least 100,000 Subscribers and has previously made content on Ben 10.
