- "We were titans. Divine. On par with the gods."
- ―Eon
Chapter 4: The Fallen Gods is the fourth chapter of 5 Years Later.
=Plot Summary[]
The chapter begins with Eon narrating the fall of his people, the Chronians. After figuring out how to manipulate time and space, their bodies became weak, causing the Chronians to break out into a war when too many opposing solutions could not be agreed upon. Eon was selected to travel through the Multiverse and activate the Hands of Armageddon and bring his race into a new home.
In Zim’s Dimension, Dr. Animo and Technus are shown working on an unknown project when Vlad and Eon arrive from the previous battle. Technus urges Eon to tell everyone what his full plan is, as Eon has kept everyone in the dark.
Eon reveals that every time his body is about to turn to dust, he forces an alternate Ben Tennyson he has previously captured to turn into a Chronian, and transfers his consciousness into that body, indefinitely tying Ben and Eon together until he could find another solution.
Eon still refuses to explain his full plans, but explains the roles each person on The Alliance serves in the grand scheme, except for Vlad, whom Eon just smiles at. He then tells Technus to give Vlad a new suit and ready themselves for transport to obtain a Dwarf Star.

Locations[]
Mythology[]
- A few Irken devices from various Invader Zim episodes appear on the shelves, along with Minimoose.
- Dr. Animo has parts of his body missing, alluding to his future self, where his whole body had been destroyed, leaving Dr. Animo as a head in a jar.
- Young versions of Stinkfly, Wildmutt, and Wildvine appear in Eon's flashback.
- The location where Eon possesses his first Ben Tennyson is the same underground Plumber facility from Ben 10: Race Against Time.
- The storage room where Eon keeps all of his Alternate Bens resembles Ben 10,000's headquarters in the original Ben 10 series.
- Eon admitting that he believed himself to be Ben Tennyson himself alludes to his Ultimate Alien and Omniverse counterparts, where he was treated as such. This caused a lot of continuity issues in the franchise.
Differences From The Archaic Version[]
An event known as 5 Years Later: Recalibrated took place in preparation for the Motion Comic Counterpart, where Kuro went back and refurbished the first eleven chapters of the series. A large portion of the artwork was edited or completely redrawn. Many scenes were replaced, cut or extended. Dialogue was fine-tuned and rewritten, while most typos and grammar errors were corrected. Attributes that became standard to 5YL’s general art style were retroactively added in, such as a stronger difference between Ben’s lime green and Danny’s turquoise green, colored outlines and shading, refined facial features for most characters, square dialogue boxes, and the signature floating dots around ecto-energy. Every transformation used by Ben is now accompanied by an Information Hub, and each alien has colored text. While nearly every panel has been altered, these are the significant changes:
- In the opening, a Chronian’s Time Orb changes from pink to blue.
- Many of the Chronians’ abilities were redesigned for the panel depicting the Chronian War.
- Eon emphasizes the importance of the Hands of Armageddon to their survival in more detail, along with their goal to guide the multiverse away from making the same mistakes as them.
- Added “Deep Underground” and “Zim’s Underground Base: The Laboratory” location text.
- The discharge from Dr. Animo’s limbs change from blue to yellow, as does the “Clamp!” onomatopoeia from red to yellow.
- Vlad now acknowledges Technus first, and questions how many others Eon may have brought from his universe, foreshadowing Skulker and Ember’s later involvement.
- The display on Zim’s computers during his call with Eon changes from green to pink, as does anything else shown on-screen in the chapter.
- Technus now demands more respect from Eon after being clued in on his importance to the plan.
- Eon explains in more detail how spending years searching for The Hands was the first major cause of his deterioration.
- Stinkfly’s wings were erroneously missing in Eon’s flashback, but are now reinstated.
- An elaborate, pink-hued Omnitrix bubble background was added behind Eon’s first successful possession transformation.
- A pink portal was added behind Eon as he hunts down other Alternative Ben Tennysons.
- Eon’s refusal to continue his time traveling cycle has additional dialogue.
- Eon’s portal trap for Technus has been redesigned.
- The position of Eon’s text boxes threatening Technus have been significantly rearranged.
- The description Eon gives for Dr. Animo, Technus, and Zim have been rewritten for simplicity and clarity.
- Technus’ Ecto-Energy has been redesigned to have rectangular shapes and particles.
Trivia[]
- This is the first chapter not to include Danny, Ben, or any of the main hero protagonists. However, alternate versions of Ben are shown, and Danny is indirectly mentioned by Technus.
- Eon's Race Against Time and Ultimate Alien appearances are shown.
- Eon's Omniverse appearance does not appear because Kuro could not find a way to fit him in. However, his Omniverse appearance finally appears in Chapter 10: Again during another flashback.
- Despite being used for promotional material since before Chapter 1 was released, this is Technus' and Dr. Animo's first appearance in the series.
- This chapter, along with Chapter 2: The Lonely Ghost, are tied for shortest chapter, with 24 pages.
- There was a scene planned to show Eon first getting captured by a Young Max Tennyson, Devin Levin, Phil Billings, and Constantine Jacobs, and contain him inside of a stasis tube, but Kuro simply forgot to put it in.
- A few Omnitrix transformations that were considered to appear during Eon's flashback were Heatblast, Cannonbolt, Ditto, Benwolf, Frankenstrike, and XLR8.
- “Irken” is misspelled as “Irkin” when Eon is downloading the files GIR stole from the Plumber Archive.
